Specific information about the website

APIS Informationstechnologien GmbH & APiS North America, LLC use Mailchimp

Consent to receive APIS newsletters via Mailchimp

APIS uses Mailchimp to send newsletters. Mailchimp is an email marketing software from US company Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

The email addresses of our newsletter recipients will be saved on the servers of Mailchimp in the USA. Mailchimp uses this information to send and evaluate newsletters on our account. Furthermore, Mailchimp can use this data to optimize or improve their own services e.g. for technical optimization of mailing and display of the newsletter or for economic purposes.

Mailchimp does not use data provided by our newsletter recipients to write to them personally, nor does it sell this information to third parties. Mailchimp is certified under the US-EU data protection “Privacy Shield” and through this is required legally to conform to EU privacy laws.

Content of the newsletter

Only once we have the consent of the recipient or through legal permission do we send newsletters, emails, and other forms of electronic notifications with promotional information. Our newsletters contain information about APIS company news, company developments, new products and their release date, as well as advance notice of new company services.

Credentials / registration data

In order to sign up for the newsletter, it is sufficient to only give your email address. We encourage you though to also enter your first and last name

Double Opt-in and protocol

Registration of the newsletter is done through a so-called “double opt in” process, whereby you will receive an email after signing up on our website, which requires you to confirm (usually by clicking on a link) that you have signed up.

Newsletter registrations will be recorded in order to verify that the signup met the legal requirements. This includes the time at which the registration- and confirmation of registration took place as well as the IP address.

Statistical survey and analysis

The newsletter contains a so-called “Web Beacon”, a small file, which upon opening the newsletter sends information back to the Mailchimp server. This information includes among other things technical information, the IP address and the time at which the email is opened. This information is used to improve services and also to be able to statistically analyze the data e.g. target groups and their reading behavior. Another example of the analysis of data is to know which users opened the email along with what links they clicked on within the email. Although each recipient can be analyzed in this way, it is neither the intention of APIS Informationstechnologien GmbH nor Mailchimp to observe any recipient individually.

Mailchimp website / Data management

There are links at the end of the newsletter which link directly to the Mailchimp website. Furthermore, recipients are able to alter their data e.g. their email address after having registered. The privacy policy of Mailchimp is also only available from their website. For this reason, we are authorized to inform you that their website uses cookies, which saves personal data which may be used by Mailchimp or their partners or service providers. We have no influence or control on how this data is collected/managed. More information on this topic can be found by clicking on the link above for MailChimp’s privacy policy.

Cancellation

You can cancel the newsletter at any time. This means both the cancellation of the newsletter and any further statistical analyses. This can be done by clicking on the link at the bottom of the newsletter.

More information can be found about Mailchimp’s data policies by going to the links below. These links will take you to their official site.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. However, in the event IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Treaty on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there only on an exceptional basis. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators, and providing other services to website operators relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google will not associate the IP address transmitted under Google Analytics by your browser with other data held by Google. You may prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software; however, we should inform you in this case that you might not be able to enjoy all of the functionality of this website to its full extent. You may additionally prevent the recording of the data (including your IP address) to Google that is generated by the cookie and that pertains to your use of the website, or the processing of these data, by downloading and installing the following browser plug-in available through the following link. In view of the discussion about the use of analytics tools with full IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()” which means that IP addresses are used only in a shortened form in order to prevent any direct correlation to specific persons. For browsers on mobile devices, please click this link to, in future, prevent anonymous tracking by Google Analytics and to activate a so-called “opt-out cookie” for your browser.

Google AdWords Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords Conversion Tracking, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators, and providing other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or in so far as third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will in no case connect the data with other data from Google. You can generally prevent the use of cookies by prohibiting the storage of cookies in your browser.

Use of our own “cookies”

This website uses its own “cookies” to increase user-friendliness (“cookies” are text files sent by the web server to the user’s browser and stored there for later retrieval).
